Armstrong bucket mechanism and seat inverted bucket traps with a 3/16" orifice. Bucket mechanisms and seats (also known as pressure change assemblies) are the lever and seat assemblies that attach to the bucket. With the inverted bucket attached to this mechanism, the steam pressure within the bucket keeps the lever up, in turn keeping the seat closed when steam is present. When the steam cools and turns to a liquid state, the trap fills with condensate causing the bucket to drop and this opens the seat to allow the condensate and air to drain. These should be replaced every five to seven years to ensure proper operation.
